Pre-written Prototypes
For each calendar and planner there is a prototype on the pasteboard of page one of the document. These prototypes have varying instructions in them. While both Xdata and InData can handle very complex instructions, we've intentionally used simpler statements as a way to introduce you to the concept.

Some of the templates make use of the Header and Footer function. In these cases, the prototype is used to set the year and month of each particular page.
Importing Text
To begin your import, you must activate the text chain. Click any of the text boxes on the calendar page. Choose Xdata > Import From File or InData > Import From File. Navigate to the folder named Exports and choose the appropriate text file. If you are using the demo of Xdata or InData, you will choose one of the exported text files for a single month. If you're using the full version of Xdata or InData, choose the file named Year and click Open.
Xdata or InData will then scan the prototype for errors and begin the import process. As the text is imported, pages will be added
Pre-written Style Sheets
Every calendar and planner template, every library item, and every mini calendar is preformatted with style sheets. These styles sheets were also applied to the text you imported. Xdata and InData are able to do this because the style sheet was actually applied to the text of the prototype and that enabled Xdata and InData to apply the style sheet on the fly during the import process.
Having pre-applied style sheets doesn't mean you can't do local formatting, it just means that making global text and paragraph style changes can be done with a few clicks. For instance, let's make a change to the numerals (the date) of the calendar or planner you are working on.
Editing Style Sheets
Use the style sheets dialogue box to edit the specifications of a style AFTER you have imported the text. Doing so before import may affect the import process.
Just as you can edit the style sheets, you may also edit the colors used in the calendar.
