GLUON ProBullets & Numbers
Page 2

Figure 5 When you launch ProBullets & Numbering, the presets will provide you with generic settings. I found the settings to be about right for my project, but through the settings dialogue box, you have quite a lot of control.
The settings dialogue box is divided into sections: indents, gaps, bullet, ordered lists, and options. We'll take a brief look at these, but for additional information, I recommend you download the demo and turn to the users' guide included there. Click here to access the ProBullets & Numbers demo.
Indents
Indents indicate how far each level of your list is indented. Notice that you have the option to indent from the left separately from the right. Style override enables you to apply a style sheet to the selected level and take precedence over any indent you define.
Gaps
You have three options for the character used between the numeral or bullet and the listed text that follows: en space, space, or tab. You may also set the gap amount.
When you choose tab, as I did, the gap amount and lead amount fields become active. Unlike en space and space, choosing tab as the gap character causes a tab to be placed on either side of the bullet or number. Using this method, you can change the tab settings and, for instance, align your numbered lists on the decimal (if you have chosen a number list style that includes a decimal).
The lead amount (not to be confused with leading), is the setting to dictate how far from the indent the right tab is placed. Setting the gap amount will dictate how far from the right lead tab your left tab will be placed, thus forming the gap. Don't try to be too precise when you're just starting out. You'll probably find that your font and type size will adversely affect these settings, and you may need to tweak them to make everything fit and align properly.

Figure 5 Define the gap character used to separate the bullet or number from the text of the list.

Figure 6 Here the gap character is a tab. I have chosen tabs because I prefer to align my numerals on the decimal. This is not the default setting.
