Activating URLs and email addresses

A feature that I really appreciate about Sonar Bookends Activate is the ability to recognize a URL even when it doesn't follow conventional formatting. Each of these examples below will be activated:

http://www.xraymag.com

www.xraymag.com/articles/xray_v5n6_quarkxpress_8_01.html

<www.thepowerxchange.com>

thepowerco.com

Activating URLs and email addresses is the process that we've covered twice now: Go to advanced > activate > URLs and e-mail addresses..

Activating links between figures and their references

When you have a document format that contains both figures and references to those figures in the body of the text, such as this X-Ray Magazine article, you may link the text reference to the actual figure if you adhere to two rules: They are consistent and they are different. With that in mind, looking closer at this document, you'd realize that I may not link the references to the figures because the way that they are referenced in the text is not different than they way they are named. OK, that's probably confusing, try this:

Text Reference X-Ray Magazine Spacer Figure Name X-Ray Magazine Spacer

  This Won't

Table 1 This table shows you half the rule: Text references must be named differently than the figure names. Don't forget part two: All references must be consistent. Notice that sample two and three differ only in the text case. To use this, be sure to uncheck the ignore case option.

References to figure and the figure numbers are both followed by numeric digits. This ensures that if you have, for instance, used the sentence "She would not allow that to figure into the equation," this instance would not prompt a link activation because figure was not followed by digits. Assuming that your document does adhere to the rules, do this:
