When you activate the links between text references and the figures, two possible errors may occur: 1) You may have more than one text reference to the same figure; and 2) You may have more than one figure of the same number. (See figure 11 and 12.)

Figure 12 If you have more than one figure in your document that matches a text reference, you will receive this message. The link will be established between the text reference and the first matching figure number. Duplicate entries will be ignored.

Figure 13 If you have a reference in your text and no figure of the matching number can be found, you will receive this error. Pay close attention to this error, it might also occur if the figure reference or figure name do not match the style that you have provided as the reference.

Activating page references

Very much like figure/table references, Sonar Bookends Activate will scour the text of the PDF and search and activate page numbers to which you have referenced, for example, story jumps such as More on page 6.

To use this feature, return to the Activate menu and choose page number references. In the resulting dialogue box, type the reference that you wish to activate. In my example below, I will activate my jump-story text that I have used when my story is continued on a different page. Once I have activated these links, I will then activate my jump-from text to refer back to the beginning of the story link.
