Follow the steps below to perform a mathematical calculation on numeric text in a marquee selection of any area on a page:

Select the Math Grabber marquee tool.

 

Drag the Math Grabber marquee tool across the numbers you wish to adjust.

 

Choose a calculation. The Math Grabber window lets you specify the calculation, precision, rounding, and separator set you wish to apply to the numeric text in the marquee selection. You can apply any combination of these options. The chosen calculation options will be applied to all numbers in the selected area.

After selecting your calculation options, click OK. Math Grabber then scans through the text in the selected area, extracts only the numerical data, performs the requested calculation, and replaces the numerical data with the new data.

Support for Undo

All of the Grabber XTensions provide undo and redo capability. To undo or redo your changes, use the Grabber menu that is available in the QuarkXPress edit menu or use the Grabber undo and redo keyboard shortcut.

Each of the four different grabber XTensions provide you with a specialty tool for a particular task. They are available individually at $175 each or Text Grabber, Tab Grabber, and Copy Grabber as a bundle for $350. They are Mac only and available for QuarkXPres 6, 7, and 8. Upgrades are available as well.
